How do I authenticate to Windows Active Directory username/password database via LDAP to log in to SERIMUX-SCRP-x console server?
Follow the steps below to configure Windows 2003 Server and the SERIMUX-SCRP-x for authentication to Windows Active Directory via LDAP.
Set up Windows Server 2003:
- Install Active Directory services
- Configure the DNS
- Setup Domain Account
Ex: dell.local - Add user names and passwords
Note: All users must be configured in one container. User passwords must be different from the local authentication.
- Verify the firewall settings
Set up the SERIMUX-SCRP-16 for Web Interface Authentication:
- Access the web interface
- Select Network > Web server configuration
- Choose the authentication method
Ex. LDAP server
- Enter in the First LDAP Server
Ex. 192.168.1.42
- Enter in the Second LDAP Server (if necessary)
- Enter the LDAP search base
Ex: dc=dell,dc=local Note: If the container is given a name, this will need to be entered into the search base. Ex: If the container is named SERIMUX Users The search base entry will be: ou=serimux,ou=users,dc=dell,dc=local
- Enter the Domain Name for the active directory
Ex. dell.local
Set up the SERIMUX-SCRP-16 for Serial Port Authentication:
- Access the web interface
- Select Serial Port >Configuration
- Choose All or an Individual port > Authenticaton
- Choose the authentication method
Ex: LDAP server
- Enter in the First LDAP Server
Ex. 192.168.1.42
- Enter in the Second LDAP Server (if necessary)
- Enter the LDAP search base

- Enter the Domain Name for the active directory
