How do I set up the SERIMUX-SCRP-x Console Switch to run the Windows Server 2003 SAC?

1. Configure the BIOS for console port redirection to a COM port

2. Set up the Windows Server 2003 for SAC support
  • Log in to the server as Administrator
  • Access the command line
  • Use the bootcfg command to redirect the console to a COM port

    Command Syntax: bootcfg /ems on /port com # /id # /baud 115200
    Example: bootcfg /ems on /port com1 /id 1 /baud 19200

3. Set up the SERIMUX-SCRP-x for SAC Support
  • Access the SERIMUX-SCRP-x Web Interface
  • Select ? Serial Port ? and then ? Configuration ?
  • Select the port to configure
  • Select ?Host Mode Configuration ?
  • From the Host Mode pull down menu select ? Console server ?
  • From the Type of Console Server pull down menu select ? MS SAC Console ?
  • Select "Save & Apply " at the bottom of the page
  • From the menu select ? Serial Port Parameters ?
  • Enter the baud rate, data bit, and parity to match the COM port settings
  • Set Flow control to None and ignore the DTR settings
  • Select "Save & Apply " at the bottom of the page
