Issue: VEEMUX Video Matrix Switches: Low resolution displaying on my DDC Monitors. Cause: VEEMUX Video Matrix Switches do not support Display Data Channel (DDC). Connected computers unable to read DDC information will sometimes default to the lowest resolution display setting. The computer will continue to display the desktop resolution at the larger chosen setting, activating windows virtual desktop. Windows virtual desktop will either display a small portion of the desktop as a full screen, or a small area in the middle of the screen. This requires movement of the cursor to the edge of the viewable area to see more of the desktop in the chosen direction. Solution: - Connect displays and computers to the VEEMUX Video Matrix switch as desired.
- On each connected Windows computer, right click on the desktop, click "Properties", click "Settings", click "Advanced", click "Adapter", and then click the "List All Modes..." button.
- In the "List All Modes" selector window, choose the resolution as desired. Make sure that all connected monitors support the chosen resolution.
- Complete steps 2 and 3 for each computer connected to the VEEMUX Video Matrix Switch.
- This resolution setting should need to be chosen only once for each computer, reboot the computer to double check the setting is saved. If the settings are not saved, the resolution may have to be chosen each time the computer is rebooted.
OR - Connect displays directly to computers.
- Turn on the computers, on each Windows computer, right click on the desktop, click "Properties", click "Settings", and choose the desired screen resolution.
- Leaving the computers on, unplug the displays, and connect the computers and displays to the VEEMUX Video Matrix Switch.
- The chosen settings will need to be redone if computers are turned off or rebooted.
