[188] Troubleshooting MRTG Configuration Problems    « Back to Category
Author: Administrator, Created on: Jul 23, 2010 9:53 AM
Language: English

Issue:
The mrtg config file Generated for ENVIROMUX using the on-line available config generator script gives an error "Unknown SNMP var".

Solution:
  • Make sure mib file path and mib file name specified at line "LoadMibs:" in config file are correct.

  • If snmp v3 support is enabled while installing net-snmp then add line "EnableSNMPv3: yes" in the generated mrtg config script below the "LoadMibs" line. ( Note: Most new snmp installation enable snmp v3 support by default. )

  • Before executing mrtg with newly modified config file and mibs, delete all the files from mrtg working directory.

Example :
LoadMIBs: /usr/local/etc/mrtg/sems-16-v1.10.mib
EnableSNMPv3: yes
