SPLITMUX-4K-4RT: How to Independently Switch Audio

Independent audio switching can be done in any mode, but independently switching audio via the front panel buttons or IR remote control can only be done in Quad or Custom mode.

In order to enable independent audio switching, the audio for each input must be set to the correct audio mode. To change the audio mode, access the Web Interface > Administration > Output Settings and choose the desired Audio Mode for each input. The audio mode can also be changed using the On Screen Display (OSD) and front panel buttons for control (manual page 53).

  • Automatic: only the audio from the selected input will be heard or simultaneously heard with other "Enable" audio channels.

  • Enable: the input's audio will be heard even if no video is present or if multiple audio channels are active.

  • Disable: no audio will be heard from that input.

In any display mode, users can use the Web Interface or On Screen Display (OSD) to select the desired input audio as "Enable" or "Automatic" and "Disable" the other three inputs to choose the active audio channel. For example, it is possible to have three audio channels simultaneously active by having input 1 as "Enable", input 2 as "Automatic", input 3 as "Enable", and input 4 as "Disable" when the unit has input 2 selected.

To quickly switch between audio channels in Quad or Custom mode using the front panel buttons or IR remote control, all audio inputs should be set to "Automatic" mode. Then, users can quickly switch the active audio channel by simply selecting the desired channel via the front panel buttons or IR remote control.

E.g. if input 1 is currently selected and its audio is playing, press input 3 on the front panel or IR remote control to have input 3's audio playing instead. The quad or custom mode visual does not change.
